THE ROLE VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
As a key member of the executive team, the VP for finance works closely with other senior executives to drive growth and seek improvements in operational processes.

Accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results as well as accounting, tax, and financial management. Principal accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Planning
• Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
• Develop financial and tax strategies
• Manage budgeting processes

Operations
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
• Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and international operations
• Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
• Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
• Implement operational best practices
• Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
• Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions

Financial Information
• Oversee the issuance of financial information
• Compliance management
• Report financial results to the CEO

Risk Management
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile
• Construct and monitor reliable control systems
• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
• Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
• Report risk issues to the CEO
• Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Funding
• Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
• Arrange for banking relationships
• Arrange and manage credit facilities

Third Parties
• Manage day to day relationships with Company’s banks
• Represent the company with key stakeholders

Financial planning, analysis and reporting:
• Developing financial operating reports, such as annual plans, quarterly forecasts, periodic reviews and updates.
• Gathering business performance data, analysing and comparing it to previous periods, and develop recommendations for improvements in revenue growth, resource allocation, cost control etc.
• Preparing financial materials for the CEO and other stakeholders, providing effective access to information for appropriate staff and business partners, and taking the lead in financial best practices.
• Leading and managing finance team.
• Overseeing cash, investments and insurance programs
• Managing investments to achieve competitive returns and ensure a strong capital structure and cash flow.
• Work closely with senior management team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Qualified as Chartered Accountant, CIMA or equivalent | Educated to a degree level, preferably with an advanced business, finance, economics or related qualification
